Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian meets with Foreign Minister of Cyprus Markos Kyprianou

On July 7, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Markos Kyprianou who is Yerevan as a member of delegation accompanying  the President of the Republic of Cyprus visiting Armenia on a state visit.

In the course of the meeting Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Cyprus discussed a wide range of issues concerning the further expansion of Armenian-Cypriot relations, particularly the steps to be taken for the cooperation within international organizations, consultations between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, economic partnership and intensification of cultural exchanges.

Minister Kyprianou stressed that the state visit of the President of Cyprus to Armenia by Armenian President’s invitation opens a new page in bilateral relations, and the visit itself proves that and the Republic of Cyprus is interested in strengthening and deepening of comprehensive cooperation with Armenia.

Edward Nalbandian and Markos Kyprianou touched upon Armenia-European Union relations, discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation within the frameworks of the European Neighbourhood policy and the Eastern Partnership program.

After the meeting, at the presence of Edward Nalbandian and Markos Kyprianou President of the Civil Service Council, Manvel Badalyan and Ambassador of Cyprus to Armenia Petros Kestoras signed the Memorandum of  Understanding on the cooperation between the Civil Service Council of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus.
