On May 26, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the newly appointed Ambassador of Benin Armenia Ayi Vissinto d' Almeida to Armenia (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

In his welcoming remarks Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian expressed hope that accreditation of the first Ambassador of Benin to Armenia will enhance the development of bilateral ties.

The Ambassador Ayi Vissinto d' Almeida stressed that his country is interested in establishment of comprehensive cooperation with Armenia in various areas and that his appointment is a sign of that desire.

The two attached importance to the expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Benin  within the frameworks of international organizations particularly the UN and the international organization of Francophonie.
