Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian meets Mոtyոs EՓrsi, the President of the Committee for European Affairs of Hungarian Parliament
22 May, 2009On May 22, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the delegation headed by Mátyás Eörsi, the President of the Committee for European Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, which arrived in Armenian on a two-day visit.
In his welcoming remarks Minister Nalbandian stressed that partnership between Armenia and Hungary is effectively developing within bilateral and multilateral formats, business and cultural ties are being expanded.
The two had detailed talks on Armenia-European Union cooperation, discussed issues concerning the EU Eastern Partnership program. Edward Nalbandian mentioned that this new format of cooperation with the European Union has a solid potential and Armenia intends to actively participate in this program.
Attaching importance to the further deepening and strengthening of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries Mátyás Eörsi emphasized that one of the goals of his visit is to discuss the EU Eastern Partnership Program with the Armenian authorities, as well as mentioned that facilitation of visa regime has a great importance within the context of development of bilateral cooperation and person to person relations.
During the meeting they touched upon the recent developments in the negotiation process of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) issue, as well as exchanged views on the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
