Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

On October 3 Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

In his welcoming remarks Edward Nalbandian highly appreciated the level of Russian-Armenian allied relationship and strategic partnership and mentioned that the cooperation between our countries in all areas is successfully developing according to the agreements between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev.

Edward Nalbandian and Sergey Lavrov stressed that active and regular high-level political dialogue creates solid basis for the development of mutually beneficial relations.


Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministers had a substantial conversation on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Ministers Nalbandian and Lavrov touched upon issues connected with the coordination of positions within the frameworks of UN, CSTO, CIS, OSCE, EC and other international organizations, as well as parliamentary assemblies.

The negotiations focused on the issues of strengthening regional stability, security and cooperation.

Touching upon recent regional developments, Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministers attached importance to the necessity to settle disputable questions exclusively by means of peaceful negotiations.

In the course of the meeting the two had detailed discussion on Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) peace process within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group and based on the  Madrid proposals.


The two had extensive talks on economic cooperation between the two countries and discussed the ways of realization of joint energy and transport projects.

The meeting between Ministers was followed by press conference.
