Meeting of Heads of Armenian Diplomatic Missions

On September 3 an annual meeting of Heads of Armenian Diplomatic missions abroad, consular institutions and Ministry central staff took place at the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting began by profound address of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who outlined the main priorities of Armenian foreign policy.


Tigran Sargsyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, Arthur Baghdasaryan, Secretary of Security Council, Georgi Petrosyan, Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Gorik Hakobyan,  Director of National Security Service, Hranush Hakobyan,  Head of the MFA’s State Committee for Relations with Diaspora were also present at the meeting and delivered speeches.


Minister Nalbandian delivered comprehensive speech during the meeting.
During the discussions participants touched upon the priorities and main directions of Armenian foreign policy. In particular, recent regional developments, challanges that Armenia faces, objectives of Armenian multilateral diplomacy within the framework of international organizations and issues of bilateral relations with bilateral partners were discussed.


The agenda of meeting included such core issues as Nagorno Karabakh peace process and Armenia – Diaspora relations.
In the course of the meeting diplomats discussed steps to be taken for deepening international economic cooperation, as well as issues of activation the cultural diplomacy. Special attention was paid to the work of Armenian consular service abroad. In this concern, it was mentioned that one of the main objectives of Armenian diplomatic missions is the protection of interests of the citizens abroad, and fair, quick and legal solution to of citizens’ problems, kind and careful treatment of the citizens' is the direct obligation of the all consular officers.
