On August 29 Hranoush Hakobyan, the Head of the RA MFA State Committee for Relations with Diaspora met the Lebanese and Lebanese-Armenian cultural personality who were in Yerevan in the framework of Lebanese cultural days in Armenia. Among them were Henry Zgheib, Riad Alamedin, the executive manager of “Safadi” Association, Pargev Taslaqyan, the leader of “Fayha” chorus and others.


At the beginning of the meeting Ms Hakobyan peaking about said that Armenian – Lebanese friendly relations, noted that Armenian nation always had and have great respect towards Arabic world, as those countries opened their doors in front of Armenians who had escaped from the Genocide.
Ms Hakobyan stressed the importance of development of cultural ties between our countries, which is an essential tool in deepening and strengthening relations between the nations. She proposed several programs which are possible to implement through the joint forces of two countries.
Poet Henry Zgheib praised the deepening and development of cultural ties between two countries. Speaking about the Armenian Diaspora in Lebanon, he mentioned that the Armenians have left an unforgettable stain on Lebanese culture.
Riad Alameddin stressed the importance of cultural days of Lebanon in Armenia and said that they have also suggested arranging cultural days of Armenia in Lebanon in order to introduce Armenian and Lebanese young artists to each other and to implement joint activities.
