On July 6 Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with Karel Schwarzenberg, Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, who was in Armenia on a three day his official visit by the invitation of his Armenian colleague.

Greeting the Czech Foreign Minister and his delegation, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that Armenian – Czech relations have warm and friendly nature and this visit will give a new impetus to the bilateral relations in different areas. 
During the meeting the Ministers Nalbandian and Schwarzenberg discussed the ways of further deepening the partnership in political, economic and humanitarian areas.

The Ministers noted that the political dialogue between the two countries is being developed, cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats goes on successfully.
They touched upon relations of Armenian – European Union. In that context, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia welcomes the initiative of EU Eastern partnership and will continue its steps directed to getting closer to the European family.

Stressing that there is a big potential in the development of trade economic relations Minister Nalbandian praised organization of Armenian – Czech business forum as a real step towards establishment and enlargement of business ties between the two countries. Minister Schwarzenberg mentioned that he is accompanied with number of businessmen, representing energy, tourism, finances and information technology areas. 
Ministers Nalbandian and Schwarzenberg attached importance to the formation of the legal framework noting that they have to start it from the beginning. They expressed satisfaction on the signature  of the Agreement for the Avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital and Memorandum on Co-operation Concerning European Integration.

Noting the rich cultural heritage of two cultures, Minister Nalbandian suggested to take concrete steps for stimulating the cooperation in cultural field.
Ministers also discussed issues concerning the regional security and stability.
By the request of Czech Foreign Minister, Minister Nalbandian presented the  present stage of the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.
The meeting was followed by the signing ceremony of documents the document and the joint press conference.
