The Visit of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian to Moscow Continues

During his trip to Moscow Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited Moscow’s State Institute of International Relations, the University he has graduated from 30 years ago.
Edward Nalbandian addressed the University’s professors and students on Armenian foreign policy. Minister Nalbandian also talked about his academic years, his first steps in diplomacy, first posting in Lebanon at war. He noted that it was very exciting to return to his home University after thirty years of graduation as Armenian Foreign Minister.

The Minister drew the students’ attention on the fact that they had the chance to study not only in the most prestigious University of Russia but also in one of the world’s most famous Diplomatic Training Centers.
On May 31 at the Armenian Embassy in Moscow,  Minister Nalbandian met Nikolay Bordyuzha, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. During the meeting the two discussed the organization’s activities, issues of foreign policy coordination among member states.
They also touched upon the agenda of upcoming Armenian in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Minister Nalbandian stressed that Armenia attaches importance to its presidency in the CSTO and would work for strengthening of cooperation between the member countries.

On the same day,  Minister Nalbandian also met Aleksey Ostrovski, Chairman of State Duma’s  Committee on Commonwealth of Independent States.

During the meeting perspectives of CIS development were discussed. Minister Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia, as a CIS active member, is interested in the development of the cooperation between its member countries. The two discussed the Nagorno Karabakh problem settlement and the regional security issues.
