On February 27, 2008, Samvel Mkrtchian, met with David Hobbs, Newly-Appointed Secretary- General of the NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly, who has taken up his office since January 2008.

During the meeting, the two discussed NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly’s future plans, the upcoming spring session to be held in Berlin in May 2008, the prospects for cooperation between Armenia’s Parliament and NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly, specifically exchange of visits and organization of joint events.

During the upcoming session, the key issues on the agenda will be Afghanistan, cyber defense and energy security. Special attention will be attached to elaboration of NATO’s strategic plan.
