Minister Oskanian Meets with Ilkka Kanerva,OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Finlands Foreign Minister
26 February, 2008On February 26, 2008, Minister Oskanian received the delegation led by Ilkka Kanerva, OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Finland.
During the meeting, the two discussed the presidential elections held in Armenia on February 19, 2008. The Finnish Foreign Minister said that being in Yerevan on those days, he had the opportunity of getting appraisals of both the authorities and the opposition, which will enable him to form a realistic opinion.
Furthermore, the Ministers spoke about the bilateral relations, both underscoring the existence of a great potential for economic cooperation.
They also touched upon issues regarding the activities of the OSCE Office in Armenia, both expressing their satisfaction with its work and projects realized.
Minister Oskanian and Minister Kanerva exchanged views on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process; the latter expressed his full support to the OSCE Minsk Group activity. They also spoke about the Kosovo developments.
Upon the guest’s request, Minister Oskanian briefed him on Armenia’s approaches to Armenia – Turkey relations’ settlement.Goran Lennmarker, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, attended the meeting, which was followed by a press conference.
