On February 15, 2008, Minister Oskanian received Anne-Marie Lizin, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Vice President and Special Co-ordinator of the OSCE/ODIHR short-term observers for the Armenian Presidential Elections.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister underscored the importance of international election observation missions in Armenia and confirmed the authorities’ determination to hold fair and transparent elections.

Ms. Lizin said that it was the second time she had been in Armenia, and improvements made in recent years are evident. She also expressed her willingness to cooperate with other election observation missions, specifically with CIS observation mission.

The two also touched upon the recent internal developments in Belgium, Armenia – Turkey relations, as well as the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process
