Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian Completed a Visit to Switzerland

On November 20, 2007, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian paid a visit to Berne to participate in the first political consultations between Armenia’s and Switzerland’s Foreign Ministries.

The Deputy Foreign Minister met with Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, President of the Swiss Confederation. During the meeting, the two expressed appreciation at the high level of  relations between the two countries and also spoke about regional issues.
        
Michael Ambühl, State Secretary of the Federal Department and Anton Thalmann, Deputy State Secretary also took part in the meeting. Zohrab Mnatsakanian, Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland also participated. 
                                                                
During the consultations they discussed all the basic elements on the bilateral agenda and underscored the cooperation with the Swiss Development Corporation, as well as the importance of Switzerland’s participation in the Rural Development Program. They also discussed cooperation in the spheres of economy, education, culture and in the legal field.
