Minister Oskanian received Mr. John Hewko, Millennium Challenge Corporation Vice- President of Operations, on 9 March 2007.

The guest pointed out that the main goal of his visit was to discuss with Armenian authorities the issues related to MCC implementation. Mr. Hewko stressed that MCC is also following the Armenian parliamentary election process. 

 Mr. Hewko said that he was very impressed by the MCC Armenian team, that they had demonstrated a high level of professionalism and that this would be very beneficial to the productive implementation of MCC programs in Armenia. 

The two agreed not to prejudge the elections. Mr. Hewko noted that they expected to see the fair and free elections, and that this would be significant for the future allocation of MCC funds and continuation of the program.
