Deputy Foreign Minister Artak Apitonian who is on a visit to the Republic of Iraq, had a number of meetings with high-level officials of the Iraqi Kurdistan.

On February 22, political-diplomatic consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Iraq were held in Baghdad, chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Artak Apitonian and Senior Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry of Iraq Nizar

On February 22, Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian received a delegation headed by Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.

The interlocutors reiterated their mutual willingness to undertake steps towards activating political dialogue, developing mutually beneficial cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, and fully realizing the existing potential.

Both sides stressed the need for a peaceful settlement of conflicts, that addresses the interests of all.
