Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia with the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran
05 October, 2026On October 5, in Tehran, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan was received by Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Ara Shahverdyan, Head of the Iran-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Iranian Majlis, and Geghard Mansourian, Deputy Head of the Group, also attended the meeting.
The importance of interparliamentary cooperation as an important component of the Armenia-Iran political dialogue was emphasized.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of relations between Armenia and Iran, based on mutual trust and friendship. It was emphasized that relations between the two neighboring countries are of a strategic nature and that consistent and open dialogue is an important prerequisite for their further development.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf touched upon ongoing cooperation projects between the two countries in various areas. The active efforts aimed at developing infrastructure connecting Armenia and Iran and ensuring the smooth flow of freight transportation were highlighted.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the prospects for the development of the railway network resulting from the implementation of the TRIPP project, which will create new opportunities for all countries of the region.
The interlocutors exchanged views on further promoting cooperation and transport connectivity as important factors contributing to the strengthening of peace and the prosperity of peoples.
