On September 25, in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Theresa Lazaro.

The interlocutors discussed opportunities for the development of relations between Armenia and the Philippines. In this context, it was emphasized that with the advancement of high technologies, geographical distance has less impact on the prospects for developing cooperation, while new areas of mutual interest are emerging.

An agreement was reached to intensify high-level reciprocal visits between the two countries.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Theresa Lazaro exchanged views on cooperation within multilateral platforms. In this context, the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Yerevan in October, was also touched upon.
