Participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in the Ministerial Meeting of the Like-Minded Group of Middle-Income Countries
26 September, 2026On September 25, in New York, on sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in and delivered remarks at the Ministerial Meeting of the Like-Minded Group of Middle-Income Countries.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade emphasized the partnership established within the framework of the Like-Minded Group of Middle-Income Countries as a platform for jointly advancing the specific challenges and needs of these countries.
Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized the importance of addressing the specific challenges of middle-income countries within the framework of cooperation with the UN system, with particular attention to national capacity-building and infrastructure development.
The Deputy Minister noted that the Strategic Action Plan being developed within the framework of the Group, which should focus on supporting the implementation of existing commitments, in particular the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the Sevilla Commitment, as well as climate and biodiversity frameworks, could serve as an effective platform for sharing best practices at the national level and for translating them into needs-based capacity-building tools.
