Participation of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia in the Annual Meeting of the Informal Ministerial Network for the International Criminal Court
25 September, 2026On September 24, in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Davit Karapetyan, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia, participated in the annual meeting of the Informal Ministerial Network for the International Criminal Court, organized by Liechtenstein and Austria.
In his remarks, Davit Karapetyan emphasized the importance of maintaining the effectiveness and credibility of international legal institutions amid growing international crises. He noted that Armenia supports the independent and impartial exercise of the mandate of the International Criminal Court, in accordance with the Rome Statute and the principles of international law.
The Secretary General presented the work undertaken to develop national legislative and institutional capacities within the framework of Armenia’s engagement in the Rome Statute system.
In this context, the importance of expanding technical cooperation and the exchange of professional expertise was highlighted.
Davit Karapetyan reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to continue cooperation with the members of the Informal Ministerial Network, the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute and the International Criminal Court towards strengthening an effective, independent, impartial and victim-centred system of international criminal justice.
