Participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia in the Preparatory Work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity
18 September, 2026On September 17, in Montreal, within the framework of working meetings of the Armenian Presidency of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the "COP17 Endgame" workshop organized for the Presidency by the Center for Multilateral Negotiations (CEMUNE).
The workshop focused on key topics, including building trust and leadership, fostering consensus among parties, coordinating efficient negotiations, managing communications, and involving non-state actors.
Discussions also centered on Armenia's ongoing presidency role following the conclusion of the Conference. Key focus areas included continued promotion of COP17 outcomes, the domestic implementation of decisions adopted in the field of biodiversity, and the Presidency's potential involvement in driving tangible progress toward the 2030 targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
