On September 14, Magdalena Grono, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, accompanied by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia, visited the Matenadaran, Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. 

At the Matenadaran, the guest was introduced to the rich collection of Armenian manuscripts and their history, as well as the traditions of preservation and restoration of ancient manuscripts and the preparation of replicas for museum display. Armenia’s exemplary and internationally recognized contribution to the preservation of Armenian and world cultural heritage, including ancient manuscripts, was emphasized. 

Following the visit, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan held a conversation with Magdalena Grono at the Matenadaran. The discussion covered Armenia-EU relations and touched upon the recent activities carried out within the mandate of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia and their effectiveness in the context of the institutionalization of the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
