Political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq
09 September, 2026On september 8, in Baghdad, political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia Ani Avetisyan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloom.
During the consultations, a wide range of topics of the bilateral agenda and multilateral cooperation was discussed, including ways of further deepening trade and economic ties.
The interlocutors also addressed the avenues of cooperation in the fields of high technologies, education and tourism, the possibility of resuming direct flights, the expansion of the bilateral legal framework and the further strengthening of cooperation on international platforms.
Views were exchanged on the latest developments in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as on a number of issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.
At the conclusion of the political consultations, a signing ceremony was held for Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of youth and sports, as well as on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia and the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq.
