The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia participated in the Ministerial Segment of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development
14 July, 2026On July 14, in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the Ministerial Segment of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, held under the theme "Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all".
In his remarks, Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized that sustainable development constitutes a core pillar of the long-term development strategy of Armenia. In this context, he presented the priorities of the Armenia-UN 2026–2030 Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, which are fully aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and are directed toward its effective implementation.
The Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon recent regional developments, underscoring the vital importance of peace, connectivity and resilient infrastructure in ensuring sustainable development. Robert Abisoghomonyan presented the "TRIPP" project and the signing of the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation thereof, highlighting it as an important factor in promoting regional connectivity, trade and investment, as well as ensuring peace, stability and prosperity.
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be hosted in Yerevan this year, was touched upon, including the Leaders' Summit and the Ministerial Segment scheduled within its framework. The importance of ensuring high-level participation was emphasized.
In conclusion, Robert Abisoghomonyan reaffirmed the commitment of Armenia to advancing peace, resilience and sustainable prosperity through close cooperation with all partners, for the benefit of present and future generations.
