Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Spain

On July 9, political consultations were held in Yerevan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Spain, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Diego Martínez Belío.

The interlocutors commended the high level of political dialogue established between Armenia and Spain and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across a wide range of areas.

A broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda was discussed, with particular attention paid to the prospects for enhancing trade and economic cooperation, promoting investment, and deepening collaboration in the fields of high technologies, education and tourism. The importance of fostering closer ties between the business communities of the two countries and maintaining the momentum of high-level political dialogue and mutual visits was emphasized.

The sides exchanged views on the strategic agenda of the Armenia–EU partnership, as well as on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. They underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan presented Armenia's approaches to the latest developments in the South Caucasus. In this context, he referred to the positive dynamics in the Armenia–Türkiye and Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization processes, as well as to Armenia's efforts to advance regional connectivity and promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on other topical international issues.
