Ararat Mirzoyan's participation in the meeting in the format of the EU Foreign Affairs Council

On June 15, in Luxembourg, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, at the invitation of the EU HR/VP, participated in a meeting in the format of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

The discussion, held in the format of a working breakfast, was attended by Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement, as well as foreign ministers and representatives of EU member states.

The EU partners congratulated Minister Mirzoyan on the democratic parliamentary elections held in Armenia and the victory of the "Civil Contract" party. The political commitment of the EU and its member states to support the consistent implementation of the Armenia-EU partnership strategic agenda and the promotion of European integration was emphasized.

Minister Mirzoyan presented the developments in and around Armenia during the pre-election and post-election periods, emphasizing that the citizens of Armenia, through their vote, reaffirmed their will to live in peace and protect the independence, sovereignty, irreversibility of democratic reforms, the chosen path of prosperity, as well as Armenia's aspirations towards Europe.

Minister Mirzoyan noted that the fact that the first visit after the elections is taking place in this format, aimed at further deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, testifies to the mutual commitment. 

An exchange of views took place on mechanisms and possible steps to increase Armenia-EU trade turnover and enhance Armenia's economic and energy resilience. Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated the support provided so far by the EU and member states in combating hybrid threats and diversifying economic ties. An agreement was reached to continue work in this direction through active cooperation with both EU institutions and individual EU member states.
