On May 6, on the sidelines of the "Yerevan Dialogue" international forum, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan met with Pedro Manuel Moreno, Acting Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). 

Deputy Foreign Minister Abisoghomonyan highly commended UNCTAD’s role in promoting inclusive, fair, and transparent trade systems, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the "UN80" initiative and opportunities for the institutional improvement of the UN system.

Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan also presented Armenia’s vision for its presidency of the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. They also discussed potential areas for UNCTAD’s involvement in COP17.
