Participation of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia at the “Leaving no one behind: advancing a society for all ages in Asia and the Pacific” discussion
21 April, 2026On April 21, in Bangkok, on the sidelines of the 82nd session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the discussion entitled “Leaving no one behind: advancing a society for all ages in Asia and the Pacific”.
In his remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan commended the ongoing efforts of ESCAP in advancing measures to promote human rights-based social protection systems.
The Deputy Foreign Minister presented the comprehensive and inclusive policies of Armenia across various spheres of social life, including education, healthcare, social protection and women's empowerment. Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized that, within the scope of these policies, a number of programs have been launched to bolster the socio-economic empowerment of women, particularly in rural communities, focusing on skill development, improving access to resources and the promotion of women’s leadership.
The Deputy Minister outlined the underlying philosophy and core principles of the Demographic Strategy for 2024-2040 of Armenia, highlighting the vital importance of family well-being and empowerment of individuals. Robert Abisoghomonyan also underscored the importance of the universal health insurance system introduced by the Government of Armenia.
In conclusion, the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the imperative of inclusive, resilient and sustainable social development, as well as the necessity of strengthening international cooperation to effectively achieve these shared objectives.
