Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia with the delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) mission

On February 11, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan received the delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Needs Assessment Mission.

The Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan highly appreciated the cooperation established between Armenia and the OSCE/ODIHR with regard to strengthening democratic governance and ensuring credible electoral processes. The important role of the ODIHR mandate and professional methodology in the field of election observation was emphasized.

The Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.

Armenia’s readiness to host OSCE/ODIHR and other relevant international observation missions to observe the parliamentary elections in June was also emphasized.

Robert Abisoghomonyan underlined the importance of support and professional engagement of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, including assessing electoral administration needs, analyzing risks related to cybersecurity and hybrid threats, aligning specialist training and certification systems with international standards, as well as effective coordination of international electoral assistance.
