Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with the delegation of the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission

On 26 January, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan received the delegation of the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission.

The Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan presented the ongoing electoral reforms process by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, and emphased that holding free, fair and transparent elections is among the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

The Deputy Foreign Minister highly appreciated Armenia's cooperation with the United Nations, aimed at strengthening democratic governance and ensuring electoral processes. The Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to strengthening open and constructive partnership with the UN, focused on implementing more systematic reforms, strengthening public trust in electoral processes and increasing the level of institutional preparedness of electoral bodies and the resilience of democracy.

Robert Abisoghomonyan stressed that the visit of the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission is a good opportunity to identify Armenia's priority needs, assess the risks of hybrid threats, discuss issues of international support for the electoral reforms, as well as strengthen long-term institutional resilience.
