Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Germany
15 January, 2026On January 15, political consultations were held in Berlin between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Federal Republic of Germany, headed by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, and Niklas Wagner, Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, noting with satisfaction the high level of relations and the active political dialogue between the two countries.
Views were exchanged on the steps aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas outlined in the Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for the Bilateral Partnership, signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Federal Chancellor of Germany on December 9, 2025.
The interlocutors also touched upon issues on the Armenia–EU Strategic Partnership agenda and noted the active cooperation established on international platforms.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kostanyan presented to the interlocutor the regional opportunities arising from the implementation of various projects, including the “TRIPP” project, which is aimed at developing economic interconnectivity under the conditions of peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a result of the Washington Agreements of August 8, 2025.
