The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran

On January 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Majid Takht Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Yerevan for holding Armenia-Iran political consultations.

Topics of development of Armenia-Iran bilateral relations were discussed. Both sides emphasized the expressed political agreement on elevating the relations to strategic level and the ongoing work in that direction was touched upon.

In his remarks, Minister Mirzoyan stated: "We understandably attach great importance to our relations with our neighbor and friend Iran. In essence, these are relations of strategic significance for us. It is no coincidence that President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Pashinyan have agreed to officially elevate our relations to the level of strategic partnership this year."

Ararat Mirzoyan and Majid Takht Ravanchi exchanged views on issues related to the unblocking of regional infrastructures. The Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized Armenia's clear position that the unblocking of infrastructure will take place within the framework of fundamental principles. The projects being developed in this direction and the opportunities they provide were touched upon.
