Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan with the Directors for Political Affairs of Foreign Ministries of the Benelux countries
12 December, 2025On December 11, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with the Directors for Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministries of the Benelux countries — Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
During the meeting, the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and the Benelux countries was commended, and prospects for developing cooperation across multiple sectors were discussed.
In the context of further strengthening Armenia’s democratic resilience, mechanisms to effectively counter hybrid threats were touched upon, stressing the importance of cooperation.
The parties commended the signing of the “Strategic Agenda for the Armenia–EU Partnership” on December 2 of the current year. Issues on the expanding agenda between Armenia and the European Union were also discussed.
Views were exchanged on the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, to be held in Armenia in 2026.
Issues on regional developments were discussed, and the need for further institutionalisation of the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan was touched upon.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia briefed his counterparts on the key significance of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia and its important component - the “TRIPP Route” project, in promoting enhanced connectivity in the South Caucasus and beyond.
