Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with the representatives of think tanks

On December 8, in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Thomas Tödtling, the Executive Director at the New York Office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Adam Lupel, the Executive Director of the Coalition for the UN We Need.

Robert Abisoghomonyan briefed his counterparts on the recent regional developments, emphasizing the importance of further consolidating and institutionalizing the peace established in the South Caucasus.  

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored the cornerstone importance of the agreements reached in Washington on 8 August, aimed at enhancing political dialogue in the region, as well as promoting trade and economic ties and investments. In this vein, Robert Abisoghomonyan also highlighted the importance of unblocking transport communications in the South Caucasus, based on the full respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of the states concerned.

The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that the South Caucasus possesses untapped potential to be transformed into an efficient and secure logistics hub, leveraging which can enhance the role of the region in developing interconnected networks. In this context, Robert Abisoghomonyan highlighted the vital importance of implementing the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia and its key component “TRIPP” project.

During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia answered the questions from his interlocutors, touching upon a wide range of international and regional issues.
