Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany

On December 4 on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Federal Foreign Minister of Germany Johann Wadephul.

The interlocutors discussed key topics which have particular importance for the  deepening of bilateral relations. Preparatory work for upcoming high-level visits was touched upon, with both sides emphasizing the substantive  nature of the bilateral agenda.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Johann Wadephul noted with satisfaction the recent adoption of the new Armenia–EU Strategic Partnership Agenda, highlighting their genuine interest in active cooperation along its outlined directions. Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated Germany’s continued support for Armenia’s democratic development.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany also discussed cooperation within various formats.

During the meeting an exchange of views on regional developments took place. The Foreign Minister of Armenia presented Armenia’s approaches regarding the further institutionalization of peace, as well as the unblocking of transport and economic infrastructure. “The effective realization of the South Caucasus’ potential to become a transport hub can transform the region and play a crucial role in the development of connectivity networks,” Minister Mirzoyan emphasized.
