Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Minister of State of Ireland for European Affairs and Defence Thomas Byrne

On December 4, in Vienna, on the margins of the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Thomas Byrne, the Minister of State of Ireland for European Affairs and Defence.

In the context of regional developments, the Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on the key role of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia and its important component “TRIPP” project in advancing connectivity within the South Caucasus and beyond. 

During the meeting, issues of enhancing cooperation within Armenia-Ireland bilateral agenda, as well as within the framework of ambitious Armenia-EU partnership were touched upon. Both sides emphasized the willingness to advance the collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly, in new and emerging technologies.

The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between Armenia and Ireland within multilateral fora and international organizations. Views were exchanged on the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity and the 8th European Political Community Summit, to be hosted in Armenia in 2026.
