Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in a panel discussion titled “Post-2027 EaP Policy: Repowering the Eastern Partnership”

On 3 December, in Brussels, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in and had a speech on a panel discussion titled “Post-2027 EaP Policy: Repowering the Eastern Partnership”, held within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Summit. 

In his remarks, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia addressed the developments in the  Armenia-EU relations and presented the “Strategic Agenda for the Armenia-EU Partnership” document, adopted during the sixth meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council. Vahan Kostanyan noted that the new document outlines new and ambitious goals for Armenia-EU partnership, including in the fields of security, cybersecurity and economy. 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia highlighted the political and geographical changes taking place in the Eastern Neighbourhood and in the EU’s Eastern Policy, touched upon the collaboration with the Central Asian countries and the importance of the cooperation in the areas of connectivity and economy. 

Referring to the EU’s new strategic approach to the Black Sea region, Vahan Kostanyan stressed that, after 2027, the economic pillar will become one of the main driving forces of cooperation. At the same time he emphasized EaP values, such as the rule of law, human rights and democracy, as essential components for the effective implementation of economic and connectivity initiatives.
