Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the event entitled “Towards 2030: Turning nature goals into action”
28 November, 2025On November 28, in Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the event entitled “Towards 2030: Turning nature goals into action”.
In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the commitment of Armenia to convening transparent and inclusive COP17, as well as ensuring a collaborative environment throughout the Conference.
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan stressed the pivotal role of COP17 in the context of the first global review of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The importance of securing adequate financing to address biodiversity-related challenges and the need to close the existing gap were emphasized.
In conclusion, the Deputy Foreign Minister noted that convening an effective Conference will only be possible through the meaningful engagement of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and all other relevant stakeholders.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Belgium and the UNDP Brussels office within the framework of the preparatory efforts ahead of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, EU institutions, think tanks and international financial institutions.
