Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Cyprus
25 November, 2025On November 24, in Nicosia, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Theodora Constantinidou conducted political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of two countries.
The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further strengthening and upgrading bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural domains. The sides reviewed the ongoing advancement of Armenia–EU relations, in the light of the upcoming Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The interlocutors underlined that a significant milestone in bilateral ties is the official opening of resident Embassies in both countries, marking a new stage of cooperation. The parties identified key areas for deepening bilateral cooperation, with a focus on business, education and agriculture. The importance of cooperation at the multilateral level was emphasised.
Views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues on the agenda. The agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, to the process of normalization of Armenia-Türkiye relations, resumption of negotiations and solution of Cyprus problem were touched upon, the importance of constructive engagement and international efforts aimed at fostering regional peace and security with full respect for international law was underlined.
