Phone conversation between Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Syria
19 November, 2025On November 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.
The interlocutors discussed issues of the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Syria. The Ministers agreed to activate the political dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest through joint efforts, including reciprocal visits.
It was emphasized that a solid foundation for the development of cooperation has been created by the traditionally friendly relations between Armenia and Syria, as well as between the two peoples.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Syria identified economy, investment promotion, and humanitarian programs as priority areas where there is cooperation potential. In the context of the latter, Minister Mirzoyan expressed Armenia’s readiness to continue its assistance in humanitarian demining.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani touched upon regional developments. The Foreign Minister of Syria congratulated his Armenian counterpart on the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan following the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington, DC, and views were exchanged on the steps being taken to further strengthen peace.
