Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia

On November 18, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Magdalena Grono, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

The interlocutors discussed issues on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. It was emphasized that the significant achievements recorded to date in various areas reflect the dynamics of the development of the partnership, its depth and rich substance. The upcoming programmes and efforts to further complement the partnership agenda with new initiatives, including those aimed at the continued strengthening of Armenia’s resilience were also touched upon.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Magdalena Grono exchanged views on regional issues. In the context of expanding the transport and economic connectivity network, the complementarity of the EU's "Global Gateway" and Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" programs was emphasized, and the steps taken towards their implementation were touched upon.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on efforts aimed at full realization of the opportunities created by the established peace as a result of the August 8 agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as on the further strengthening of the peace.
