Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the Ministerial Roundtable entitled “Promoting and Protecting Human Rights in UN80 Reform”

On September 22, in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the Closed Ministerial Roundtable entitled “Promoting and Protecting Human Rights in UN80 Reform”.

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the primary role of human rights protection within the UN system as a cornerstone for advancing peace, security, and development. Emphasizing the importance of strengthening early warning and prevention mechanisms, the Deputy Minister highlighted the need for capacity building to address human rights violations and safeguard vulnerable groups.

Robert Abisoghomonyan further stressed the necessity of financing for the protection of human rights, aimed at swift responses to violations and preventing future crises, as well as ensuring accountability and justice.

The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the willingness of Armenia to cooperate with international partners in the pursuit of strengthening human rights.
