Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia received the Ambassador of Indonesia to Armenia

On September 22, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Armenia Arief Basalamah (with residence in Kiev). The Deputy Minister congratulated on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Indonesia, and expressed hope that through joint efforts, Armenia-Indonesia interstate relations will further develop and strengthen in the near future.

Mnatsakan Safaryan briefed the interlocutor on the recent regional developments and the efforts of the Government of Armenia to establish lasting and sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, including the agreements reached in Washington within the normalisation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Arief expressed gratitude for the effective cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats in recent years, and expressed Indonesia's willingness to deepen cooperation with Armenia in the fields of trade, economy, education, and culture.

The sides commended the increase in the number of tourists visiting Armenia from Indonesia in recent years and highlighted the importance of people-to-people contacts.

On the same day, an official reception marking the Independence Day of Indonesia was held in Yerevan, where Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan delivered a speech as the guest of honour.
