On August 8, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan received Leila Meliouh, the newly appointed Director of the Office of the UN World Food Program in Armenia, on the occasion of handing over a copy of her credentials.  

Congratulating the WFP Office Director on her appointment, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of WFP programs in addressing humanitarian issues and food security in Armenia.

The interlocutors commended the work carried out and the results achieved so far, and highlighted the importance of ensuring the continuity of programs and consideration of new directions.

The WFP Country Strategic Plan for 2026-2030 for Armenia was touched upon. The Deputy Minister emphasized that Armenia attaches importance to the elaboration and implementation of a comprehensive programme of action focused on the existing needs and priorities.
