On August 11, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone call with Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

In continuation of the conversation between the leaders of two countries, Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his Russian counterpart on the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, particularly the initialing of the Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the joint appeal regarding the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures, as well as emphasized the reaffirmed fundamental principles for the unblocking of regional communications.

Minister Mirzoyan expressed gratitude for the congratulations and support of the Russian Foreign Minister on this important milestone. 

The interlocutors also touched upon issues of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.
