Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Belgium
02 July, 2025On July 2, in Yerevan political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Belgium were held. The consultations were chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Director General of Bilateral Relations of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Birgit Stevens.
The sides disuessed a wide range of issues on the Armenia-Belgium bilateral agenda, emphasizing their willingness to expand multi-faceted cooperation. Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan stressed the importance of enriching bilateral relations with new strategic directions.
The interlocutors touched upon the ongoing steps to deepen the comprehensive and ambitious agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership and noted the active cooperation on international platforms.
Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan briefed the current status of the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey normalization processes, emphasizing Armenia's political will to normalize relations with its neighbors.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on a number of issues on the regional and international agenda.
The preparatory works for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) and the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, to be held in Yerevan in 2026, were also discussed.
