Security and defense consultations between Armenia and the European Union

On June 30, the inaugural security and defense consultations between Armenia and the European Union took place. The agenda of the meeting included a wide range of issues. During the consultations, issues on the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union in the field of security and defense were touched upon, besides the sides exchanged views on current regional topics.

The sides discussed the prospects for advancing cooperation within the framework of the European Union's crisis management operations, the activities of the EU monitoring mission in the Republic of Armenia, the possibilities of continued cooperation within the framework of the European Peace Facility, the prospects for cooperation between the European Security and Defence College and the relevant educational institutions of Armenia, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

Reforms in the security sector, and the possibilities of implementing joint programs in the area of combating hybrid threats and disinformation were touched upon.
