Discussion with the Participation of the Armenian Foreign Minister at the China Institute of International Studies

On June 25, during his official visit to China, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a discussion at the China Institute of International Studies. The institute’s president Chen Bo delivered a welcoming address and participated in the discussion. The event was attended by the institute’s vice-president, heads of research departments covering various geographical directions, and experts.

Minister Mirzoyan outlined Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and the dynamic efforts undertaken to implement them. Touching upon Armenia-China bilateral relations, he emphasized the Armenian government’s readiness to elevate cooperation with China to a new level with a broader agenda and highlighted joint efforts in this direction.

The interlocutors noted favorable conditions for this, including shared approaches to key issues such as respect for the principle of territorial integrity.

In the context of regional connectivity, Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the “Crossroads of Peace” project, stating: “Armenia, located at an important crossroads, can play a significant role in programs aimed at expanding transport and economic connectivity  networks.”

The minister added that Armenia’s efforts to normalize and develop relations with its neighbors are crucial in this context.

Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, underscoring the importance of signing the Agreement on interstate relations and peace for the establishment of peace in the whole region.

The discussion touched on various geopolitical developments, with the minister outlining Armenia’s approaches to them.
