On June 12, in Nice, within the framework of the Third UN Ocean Conference, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the panel discussion on “Leveraging Ocean, Climate and Biodiversity Interlinkages”.

In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister presented the vision of Armenia for contributing to international efforts in addressing climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.

The Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity, signed by Armenia on June 9 within the framework of the Conference, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the complementarity of international governance and transparency in the domains of ocean, climate, and biodiversity.

Reiterating the commitment of Armenia in this field, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, will serve as an important platform for the first global review of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework commitments, particularly in developing and implementing synergetic approaches to the ocean–climate-biodiversity interlinkages.
