03 June, 2025On June 3, within the framework of the annual Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in and delivered remarks at the session entitled "Building Sustainable Peace: Bridging Security and Development in Fragile Environments".
Touching upon the concept of sustainable peace, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to conflict, particularly the integration of security, development, and regional cooperation.
The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of effective arms control mechanisms for maintaining peace and security at both global and regional levels. In the context of promoting transparency and trust in the South Caucasus, the Deputy Minister touched upon the proposal of Armenia to Azerbaijan on the establishment of mechanisms for mutual arms control and joint investigation of border incidents.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the role of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia (EUMA) in contributing to border stability.
Deputy Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan further emphasized the role of connectivity as a cornerstone for peace, stability, and development in the region. In this regard, the unblocking of infrastructure in the South Caucasus and the provisions of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative proposed by Armenia were touched upon.
