Newly appointed Ambassador of Ireland handed over the copy of her credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia
29 May, 2025On May 29, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland to the Republic of Armenia, Catherine Bannon (with residence in Sofia), following the presentation of a copy of her credentials.
Deputy Minister Safaryan congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment and emphasized Armenia’s interest in exploring opportunities to further develop the multifaceted relations with Ireland.
Expressing gratitude for the well wishes, the newly appointed Ambassador reaffirmed her commitment to actively contribute to the strengthening of the friendly relations between the two countries and to the enrichment of the bilateral agenda.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on Armenia-Ireland bilateral relations, including the enhancement of political dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy, as well as steps to foster cooperation in areas such as the economy, communications, tourism, and high technologies.
Deputy Minister Safaryan also touched upon Armenia's efforts and the existing developments aimed at establishing peace in the region, and presented the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative developed by the Government of Armenia.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation aimed at strengthening relations.
