Participation of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan in the “Digital Public Infrastructure for resilience and inclusion: Advancing Human Rights Online" High-level panel discussion
26 May, 2025On May 26, within the framework of the Yerevan Dialogue international forum, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered opening remarks at the “Digital Public Infrastructure for resilience and inclusion: Advancing Human Rights Online" High-level panel discussion.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and the Freedom Online Coalition. The discussion brought together inna-Liina Lind, the Undersecretary for Global Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of Estonia, Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of the HighTech Industry of Armenia, as well as representatives of various local and international organizations, civil society and experts.
In his remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized the importance of digital technologies for small states, particularly in the context of development, digital resilience and security. In this context, the significance of safeguarding human rights online, and particularly the issues of developing and implementing secure, open and dignified digital public infrastructure (DPI) were touched upon.
Note. On December 3, 2024 Armenia joined the Freedom Online Coalition becoming its 42nd member with unanimous support from all coalition member countries. Estonia holds the current Presidency of the Coalition.
